Launch party with the infamous Bubble Man of Catalunya!
A discussion with Pipette’s editor along with Venice and Paris sommeliers and natural wine experts.
Our friends at Pineapple Collective NY have invited Pipette to join a panel discussion (and tasting of wine and food, of course!) all about natural wine, covering a range of issues, including: what is it, and why should we care about it?
Held on Nov 29th from 7-9pm, this will be a really dynamic and memorable discussion featuring multiple perspectives, in the wonderful, intimate space at the Green Grape Annex in Brooklyn. Tickets via Eventbrite.
Years ago, in the mezcal fields of Oaxaca, our editor Rachel met Lane Harlan of Baltimore’s Bar Clavel and other outposts. It was only fate that Lane would now open a natural wine bar and Pipette could be there to inaugurate it with a one-night-only bar takeover.
We’re planning a fun evening with plenty of delicious wines (including the very limited Persephone Wines that Rachel makes in Australia), freshly shucked oysters and grilled seafood by a special guest chef, and magazines on sale.
Tues, Nov 27, 7-11pm at Fadensonnen, 3 W 23rd Street. No entry fee.
At Dio Wine Bar, Washington DC.
Sunday, Nov 25,
Come hang with our editor Rachel at Dio Wine Bar! From 4:30-6pm, Dio hosts Pipette Magazine for a tasting and discussion about gender in the world of wine. We'll taste 4 wines from around the world made by women and use them as catalysts to talk about how gender makes a difference, both in writing about wine, and making it. The tasting will be followed by an open Q&A.
Eventbrite link here to get tickets! Magazines will be on sale, as well.
Join us at Crystal City Wine Shop in Arlington, Virginia for a free wine tasting hosted by our editor, Rachel, from 3-6pm on Saturday the 24th of November.
Crystal City Wine Shop has been a supporter of this magazine since the beginning and we’re thrilled to be spending the afternoon there. Come to try the wines, have a chat, and purchase a magazine.
Four events in three days: Lausanne, Geneva, and Zurich, with our friend TheWineStache. All events are pay-as-you-come (cash only at Nero’s; please RSVP by email for the 169West event), and magazines will be on sale in all venues.
Nov 14 at L’Arsenic, Lausanne: Starting at 7pm (doors open 6:30pm), WineStache will be hosting a conversation (in French) on biodynamic winemaking and the variety Chasselas, with local winemaker Gilles Wannaz in attendance. We’ll be pouring some of his wines as well as other takes on Chasselas from Switzerland and beyond. CHF 15.- at the door to join the talk. Afterward, starting at 8pm, we’ll be at the bar where you can order Papet Vaudois and all sorts of amazing wines by-the-glass, specially curated by WineStache + Pipette Magazine and our very exciting surprise guest bartender! (Hint: a winemaker.)
Nov 15 at Nero’s Pizza, Geneva: The city’s best pizzeria has invited us to pop-up for one evening only, from 6:30-9:30pm. Come by for a glass or a bottle of our favorite Italian wines, grab a slice, buy a magazine. No entry fee; CASH ONLY for wine + magazines.
Nov 16 at 169 West, Zurich: We’re kicking off our Zurich evening with a casual conversation about our personal experiences working harvests in Europe and Australia, making our own natural wines for the first time, and launching the world's first natural wine print magazine. We’ll be pouring some very special wines during the talk. 25 CHF at the door. RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org or on our Facebook event.
Nov 16 at Gamper Bar, Zurich: From 9:30-11:30pm, we’re taking over the bar at Gamper, pouring a specially curated list of our own favorites from their cellar. No entry fee. Cash preferred for magazines.
See you there! Any questions, shoot us an email: email@example.com.
