Since 2019, we have offered boutique tours that bring a small group to natural wineries in Slovenia and Italy. For 2025, our capstone will be a very special 7-night tour of Central Italy (Tuscany, Lazio, and Umbria) from May 6-13, led by Pipette’s founder and publisher Rachel Signer, with limited spaces available. The May 2025 trip will include:
Daily visits to natural wine producers including hands-on winery and vineyard experiences to demonstrate the practical realities of organic and biodynamic viticulture and natural winemaking
Meals and accommodations at wineries and picnics in vineyards to experience the ultimate pairings
A visit to Tuscan thermal baths
Pasta-making class led by women in their cooperatively-run osteria
In-depth discussion about natural wine in Italy, vitictulture, and winemaking (as well as Italian-English translation as needed) with your expert guide
Transportation in a spacious, air-conditioned vehicle with an experienced, professional driver (with Italian disco playlists for the right moments)
Daily personal time for walks and reflection

For the May 2025 week-long trip, there is one reduced-price spot available for an individual who is working in the wine industry and can demonstrate financial need, and one reduced-price spot available for a photographer who would like to document the trip, both of which will involve a separate application process.
For those unable to join the signature week-long tour, we are available to create customized itineraries with visits to natural wine producers in Northern or Central Italy with only 1-2 months notice, with limited options to join Rachel on a “microtour” visiting winemakers.
