We are accepting pitches. Below are our guidelines.
Sangiovese + Sediment is a publication that brings together natural wine and the ~sediment~ of our lives.
Please read the publication in order to familiarize yourself with the style. If you have an idea for a contribution, please send us an email with the following:
The working title of the piece
What genre it fits into: memoir/essay, journalism, comedy, explainer, etc
How it touches upon the world of natural wine: Which winemakers do you feature, and how so (in-person visits? A discussion of their wines? A Q&A?)
Your credentials: Why you’re the best person to write this
Please make sure you have written in the voice you’d eventually write the article in
400-700 words
Whether any original photography or illustration might be involved (we are also interested in visual essays)
The first round of pitches will be accepted between June 1-18 at pipettemagazine@gmail.com. We are offering a modest compensation for confirmed articles. We will discuss this with writers directly. We do not accept pitches or finished work written with AI.
INTRODUCING THE PIPETTE EBOOK SERIES
In 2026, we return to self-publishing with an ebook series, sharing stories and voices from the natural wine world. Our ebook series will represent the signature Pipette devotion to quality and originality, touching upon important scenes and figures in the world of natural wine.

What is an ebook?
An ebook is a digital file that can be downloaded and read as a book on tablets, computers, and phones. It can have design elements, or be text-only.
Why is Pipette publishing an ebook series?
We love great storytelling, indie publishing, and natural wine! For years, we published a print magazine, and we miss bringing original writing into the world but we’re not ready to dive back into print right now. This ebook series is our way of restarting the conversation about natural wine in the Pipette community—and growing that community. We’re ready to share some fantastic stories and help people learn more about natural wine with this ebook series.
What’s in it for writers?
In our sample ebook on this page, we outline a profit-sharing model, which we think is a fair approach to getting a book out into the world. We will use our platforms to help readers find our ebooks. We’d love to be a home for ideas that don’t quite work for traditional publishing.
When will we get to read the Pipette ebooks?
We hope to release our initial batch of ebooks in September. Follow us on Instagram and via our Substack to stay tuned.
